The Maui County Business Resource Center has announced several additional free business workshops featuring local business consultants and an attorney, including a special evening workshop on using  Quickbooks for beginners.

For the first time, Richard Kehoe, CPA, will lead a hands-on computer QuickBooks training course for beginners on June 30, 2011 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Business Resource, entitled “QuickBooks for Small Business”. The session is $45 and students will learn to set up company QuickBooks in a small class setting with personalized tutoring.  This class is for new users and will teach you how to record sales, receive payments, prepare invoices and balance your checkbook.  Get customized answers and schedule a follow-up appointment at no cost to discuss your solutions.  The workshop is sponsored by SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) and presented by Richard Kehoe, CPA and lead SCORE counselor.

Susie Thieman, President and CEO of MEO Business Development Corp. will discuss the reason for writing a business plan.  Participants will receive an outline of the business plan used by MEO Core Four Business Plan course.  Thieman is the instructor of the program and has more than 25 years of small business startup and management experience.

All classes are held at the Maui County Business Resource Center located across from IHOP at the Maui Mall in Kahului. Seating is limited and reservations are encouraged by calling the Center at 873-8247.
