Artists Needed for Community Work Day Sponsored Art Show
By Katie McMillan
When you look at a plastic bottle, do you see a gorgeous work of art?
If you are a painter, sculptor, weaver, dreamer, or visionary and would like to offer your talents to creating works of art out of plastic waste, here is your chance.
In partnership with Maui OnStage, Community Work Day Program will be presenting the Garden of BE Art Show in conjunction with the stage play “The Garden of BE” to be held at the Iao Theater in Wailuku this September and October.
The art exhibition will feature works of art made from reused plastic. Artworks must depict a garden theme, such as flowers, plants, trees, vines, animals, birds, insects, etc.
The exhibition is open to all and the entry fee is only $5. There is no such thing as too much creativity so the sky is the limit with what can be created here. Entries are due by September 10, 2011.
