“Hawaii’s tremendous network of community health centers provide access to affordable, quality care to thousands of families across our state,” said Schatz in a statement following his rounds.

“The work that they do improves the quality of life for our loved ones, and I will continue to fight to ensure that these centers have the resources they need to provide primary care, improve access, and implement President Obama’s Affordable Care Act,” he said.

Staff, patients and providers discussed successes and obstacles faced at each facility.  Locations included in the visit were: the Molokaʻi Community Health Center, Waimānalo Health Center, Kōkua Kālihi Comprehensive Family Services, and the Waiʻanae Coast Comprehensive Health Center.
