Wailuku First Friday to Celebrate 2015
Wailuku First Friday will feature a full lineup of music, food, activities, and crafts this Friday, Jan. 2, to greet the new year. Local musician Willie K. will perform with the Deborah Vial Band on the Maui Thing stage starting at 7:30 p.m.
The Hand Jive Trio with B3 Hammond, broadcast live from Manao Hana Hou Radio at the Wailuku Coffee Company, will kick-off the event from 4 to 6 p.m.
Body Alive will offer free yoga at 4:45 p.m. Live Hawaiian music, food, and crafts will be held at the Beer and Wine Garden beginning at 5:30 p.m. Get down with dance music by DJ Joralien at the Wailuku Banyan Tree Park at 6 p.m.
Also, a preview of the 2015 Fringe Theater Festival will be shown at the Historic ‘Īao Theater beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
For motorists, Market Street will be closed to through traffic beginning at 5:30 p.m. No cars will be permitted to park on the street and may be ticketed.
Maui Medical Group offers free parking for the event at the facility’s lot near the Main/High Street intersection. Find the event with GPS by entering “Maui thing, 7 North Market Street.”
