UPDATE: Fire personnel from Engine 10 in Kahului responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Kapoli Street at approximately 10:10 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015.  Upon arrival on scene, crews found a late model Honda Civic fully engulfed in fire.  Maui Fire Captain Paul Haake said the vehicle was being driven by a female who stopped in the Māʻalaea area to investigate smoke coming from under the dashboard area.  Capt. Haake said that while the driver was trying to figure out where the smoke was coming from, a fire broke out from under the dash.  Fire officials say the female attempted to extinguish the fire, but was unsuccessful.  No one was injured in the incident.  Fire officials say the cause of the fire was most likely accidental.
