Haleakalā Summit Restrooms Temporarily Closed

The restrooms located at the summit visitor’s center of Haleakalā National Park are temporarily closed due to a system malfunction. The park is working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. In the meantime portable toilets will be available in the summit area.

Work is continuing on restroom improvements in the Summit District at the Park Headquarters Visitor Center located at 7,000 feet. The park plans to work on one restroom at a time while the other remains open. Portable toilets will be available for visitor use also.

The water filling stations and fountains remain available for visitor use during the project.

The toilets at Hosmer Grove, Halemau‘u Trailhead, and Kalahaku Overlook are open.
