Gilbert & Associates Earns Gold at Pele Awards
Gilbert & Associates was awarded top honors for advertising design at the 2016 American Advertising Federation Hawai‘i Pele Awards ceremony on April 23 on O‘ahu.
G&A earned a gold Pele in the packaging category for a Minit Stop food container design using whimsical “isms” and phrases written on the box.
“We wanted something that would entertain the person while enjoying the great food inside,” said Art Director Amy Mendolia, who accepted the awards on behalf of G&A.
G&A also won a silver award for the unique Minit Stop chicken/shaka logo.
“I was thrilled and honored to be one of the best two logos produced in the State of Hawai`i for the year—especially knowing how many are entered,” said Mendolia.
“The recognition we receive is a reflection on the great clients we have,” said G&A Vice President Nicholas Gilbert. “The freedom to explore new creative ideas is what makes this business so fun. During the past several years, we have been honored with over 20 advertising awards, including national recognition.
“We look forward to seeing how we do nationwide in the upcoming Addy Awards,” Gilbert said.
“We are very proud that the logo and packaging that Gilbert & Associates created for Minit Stop have been chosen as top designs in the state,” Hawaii Petroleum CEO Kimo Haynes said.
For over 40 years G&A has served large and small companies on all of the Hawaiian Islands and Mainland, assisting with all their marketing needs in advertising, public relations, design and production.
