TEACH Maui, Inc. will again offer a Saturday morning science and Hawaiian culture enrichment program for 4th through 8th grade students. Beginning on August 22nd, 2009 for 4 consecutive Saturdays, students will receive lessons in conservation science and Hawaiian culture. The lessons will be presented local educators, scientists and cultural practitioners who are knowledgeable of the many challenges faced by ecosystems and natural resources on Maui. Students will participate in authentic, hands-on, outdoor activities at the National Marine Sanctuary Education Center and the Koieie Fishpond in Kihei, and other locations. The fourth session of the program will be dedicated to teaching the students how to create a digital presentation using the personal reflections they wrote and pictures they took throughout the program. Students will take home their presentation on a CD that they themselves create.   Each program session is limited to 8 students. There will be 4 program sessions per year. There is no cost to parents for this program. For more information about the program and the current registration, call 879.4605 or visit http://www.teachmaui.org/kids
