This Tiger tale has grown awfully stale

I have never been a fan of soap operas and their phony plot twists.

I can’t stand so-called reality television shows because there is little reality in those programs.

I detest those entertainment news shows filled with the latest gossip about pop culture personalities I don’t know or care about.

I don’t purchase National Inquirer at the checkout stand of my local supermarket.

So what I have to say next shouldn’t come as a surprise. For all of you who are absolutely enthralled with any and all developments in the Tiger Woods saga: Get a life.

Yes, I know he is billed as the most dominant athlete at his particular sport on the globe, some going as far as saying that he’s the most recognizable athlete in the entire planet, although I can make compelling arguments against both of those premises.

Tiger is a great golfer who was busted by his wife, resulting in a layoff from competition while trying to sort out his personal life.

He plans to return at The Masters. Like many of you who only watch golf when Tiger is in the hunt, I will tune at some point.

But that doesn’t mean I am interested in every sordid detail regarding his fall from grace. I don’t know Tiger. He doesn’t know me. And he probably doesn’t know you, either. So he doesn’t owe me – or you — any sort of explanation or apology. So get over it.
