A group of gay marriage supporters on Maui plan to hold a demonstration today and tomorrow afternoon outside the Federal Courthouse on High Street in Wailuku.  The demonstration is being planned around the U.S. 9th Circuit Judicial Conference being held on Maui this week.

Event organizers hope to remind visiting judges of the group’s stance on gay rights.  Judges have until Wednesday to decide on an appeal on the fate of the stay on marriage equality in California.

The group Both Sides Now plans to hold the demonstration from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. today and tomorrow, August 16 and 17, at 1 Main Plaza located at the corner of Main Street and High Street.

“We cannot let these 9th Circuit Court judges forget the principals we have struggled to defend for generations,” a press released issued by the group said.
