DLNR to Break Ground for New Maalaea Ferry Terminal

The state department of land and natural resources will break ground on harbor improvements at Maalaea this Friday.  The ceremony will be followed by a public information meeting at 5 p.m. in the Sea Flight Building.  Improvements include the construction of a new ferry terminal building, waste water treatment plant, concrete paved roadways and parking areas, new piers, vessel sewage pump-out facilities, electrical upgrades and a new comfort station.

VIP’s in attendance will include DLNR Chief Engineer Carty Chang, Governor Linda Lingle, Ryther Barbin, Senator Roz Baker, and Representative Angus McKelvey.  A blessing will be led by Kahu Kalani Wong of Kamehameha Schools.
