Maui Police Promotes Juan to Lieutenant and 5 others to Sergeant
The Maui Police Department announced the promotion of William Juan to the rank of Lieutenant, and five other officers to the rank of Sergeant.
Lt. William Juan is a 17 year veteran of the Maui Police Department and is currently assigned to the Lahaina Patrol Division. That’s where Juan began his career after successfully completing the Police Academy. During his career, Lt. Juan also served assignments in the Hana and Kihei Patrol Divisions and at the Internal Affairs Division as a Detective.
Promoted to the rank of Sergeant are officers Reid Pursley, Russell Kapahulehua, Lance Kaupalolo, Kimberly Masse, and Keola Tom.
Sgt. Reid A. Pursley, 35, is an 11 year veteran of the Maui Police Department. He served in the Wailuku, Kihei and Molokai Patrol Districts; and was most recently assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau.
Sgt. Russell K. Kapahulehua, 42, was recently was assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau. Over his 14 year career with the MPD, he has also served in Wailuku, Lahaina, and the Molokai Patrol Districts, as well as Plans, Training, Research and Development, Crime Reduction Unit in Lahaina, and the School Resource Officer at Maui High School.
Sgt. Lance Kaupalolo started his career in October 1995 with the Maui Police Department. He has served assignments in the Wailuku and Lahaina Patrol Districts and has been a Departmental Firearms Instructor and Field Training Officer for the past 10 years.
Sgt. Kimberly C. Masse has served in the Wailuku and Lanai Patrol Districts as well as an assignment as the School Resource Officer and D.A.R.E Officer at Lanai High and Elementary School since first joining the department in January 2001.
Sgt. Keola Tom began his career with the MPD in January of 2002. Since that time, he has served in the Wailuku Patrol and the Vice Narcotics Divisions. Sgt. Tom is a Firearms Instructor and Rappel Master for the Maui Police Department.
Promotions for Lt. Juan and Sergeants Kaupalolo, Masse and Tom were effective September 16, 2010. The promotions of Sergeants Pursley and Kapahulehua took effect on December 16, 2010.
