A planned four-hour power outage is scheduled to take place along Kokomo Road in Haiku on Thursday, January 27, 2011.

The outage is necessary as crews from Maui Electric Company work to upgrade service in the area to better meet the needs of customers.  The work will result in an interruption in electrical service for customers on Kokomo Road from above the Haiku Cannery to just below the 4th Marine Division Memorial Park, and lateral areas.

Crews from Maui Electric Company will begin electrical work at 7 a.m. and conclude at around 11 a.m.

MECO officials say the interruption is required to complete this job.  The company apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, and thanks customers in advance for their cooperation and patience.
