A Wind Advisory has been extended for the County of Maui until 6 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011.  Forecasters from the National Weather Service say gusty east winds will be in the 20 to 30 mph range with gusts up to 55 mph.

The windy conditions are the result of high pressure north of the state.

As a precaution, motorists are asked to drive with caution, especially those operating high profile vehicles.  Loose objects should also be secured to prevent them from becoming airborne.
