Members of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise will host their 3rd Annual West Maui Safety Fair on Saturday, May 7, 2011.
The free educational event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lahaina Cannery Mall.
Those in attendance will have an opportunity to brush up on emergency preparation, natural disaster preparedness, CPR techniques, and ocean safety.
McGruff the Crime Dog will participate in a scavenger hunt at noon. Kids will also have a chance to participate in a bicycle safety challenge course featuring helmet fitting inspections staged by the Maui Parks & Recreation division in the parking lot.
The West Maui Safety Fair is presented by the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise in partnership with Maui Electric Co. and Lahaina Cannery Mall. “Our community is fortunate to have these organizations volunteer their time and resources to further educate us on how to stay safe,” said Ann Neizman, president of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise.
“Realizing West Maui is isolated and geographically distant from Central Maui, the more safety and precautionary education we can provide our community is priceless,” said Neizman.
