Dr. Anne Saarheim-Riggs Joins Kaiser Maui Lani
Family medical physician Ann Saarheim-Riggs, MD, has joined Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Maui Lani Clinic.
Dr. Saarheim-Riggs joins over 450 physicians and providers who form the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMGP) – the state’s largest medical group. HPMGP provides comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente’s 230,000+ members in Hawaii.
Dr. Saarheim-Riggs received her medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences Univesity in Portland and completed her residency at Family Medicine Spokane in Washington State. Previously, she served as staff physician in urgent care with Skagit Valley Medical Center in Mt. Vernon, Washington.
According to a report from the John Burns School of Medicine to the 2010 legislature on physician shortages, hard data exists to show that Hawaii has a shortfall of over 600 physicians currently when compared to a community on the mainland of the same size. The shortfall of physicians in Hawaii estimated at 1600 by 2020 making the addition of Dr. Saarheim-Riggs a welcome addition to the Kaiser Maui Lani Community.
Dr. Saarheim-Riggs has been certified by the American Board of Family Medicine physicians since 1996.
