A California man was airlifted from the Kailua area of East Maui after falling approximately 15-feet at a pool in the area often referred to as the “Bamboo Forest,” officials said.

The incident was reported at 2:59 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at the “second pool” off of the Hāna Highway near Mile-6.5, said Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
