The newly reformed Young Democrats of Maui County, now under new leadership, invites the public to view a live stream of the Democratic presidential debate on Sunday Jan. 17, 2016, at 4 p.m. at the MEDB Malcolm Center in Kīhei.
After the debate, there will be a formal meeting to discuss future events.
Attendees are asked to bring snacks to share as well as their own reusable cup, plate and utensils.
The Young Democrats of Maui County’s mission is to empower young people to become engaged in influencing politics and government in Hawai‘i.
Additionally, YDM wants to create a neutral space where young people can learn about our island’s history and politics from diverse perspectives.
YDM plans to host candidate forums, voter registration drives, community service events, social mixers, as well as forums about specific issues with experts from varying viewpoints.
