Keith Regan to Hold St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

The Friends of Keith Regan invites the community to a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration with County Council Candidate Keith Regan on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Maui Beach Hotel.

No-host cocktails will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will follow at 6 p.m. In addition to a dinner buffet, the event will feature entertainment, a silent auction, door prizes, as well as prizes to be presented to those who are most festively dressed for St. Patrick’s Day.

Regan has served as the County of Maui’s managing director from 2004 to 2006, and from 2011 to present.

During his term as managing director, Regan focused on process improvement and accountability initiatives. Some of these initiatives have included permitting, performance management, process review, management training and fleet vehicle usage. In addition, Regan also helped kickoff the county’s health and wellness program, and implemented GPS tracking for county vehicles.

Prior to serving in that capacity, Regan was the county’s finance director from 2003 to 2004.

“Serving the people of Maui County has always been a passion of mine,” Regan said. “I enjoy working with the public, dealing with a broad range of complex issues, and developing solutions that are both sensible and achievable. My experience as a public administrator has provided me with skills that I believe will be complimentary and beneficial to the legislative process.”

In 2001, Regan was recognized by Pacific Business News as Hawaii’s 2001 Young Business Person of the Year.

Recognized by The Maui News as one of the “People Who Made a Difference” in 2011, Regan has a long history of volunteer service, including being the first male president of the Japanese Cultural Society of Maui, and serving on the boards of the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation, American Heart Association of Maui, Haleakala Waldorf, Tri-Isle Resource Conservation and Development Council, and the Maui Young Business Roundtable.

He is the Cubmaster for Cub Scouts Pack 40 and serves as a director on the Boy Scouts of America – Maui County Council board.

Regan is a past distinguished lieutenant governor for the California-Nevada-Hawai‘i District of Kiwanis International, and past president of Kiwanis Club of Kahului.

He holds a master of public administration degree from the University of Southern California and is a 2005 graduate of the Pacific Century Fellows Program.

Regan, age 44, lives in Wailuku with his wife, Lynn A.S. Araki-Regan, an attorney, and their 10-year-old son Riley, a fifth grader at Pu‘u Kukui Elementary School.
