Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are expected to be around knee/waist/chest high for spots catching trade swell.
West: Surf is chest/head high up to a few feet overhead today out of the southwest. Spots from Kihei to around Olowalu will be much smaller due to shadowing from the other islands.
South: Surf is chest/head high today with the best breaks getting overhead on the sets from time to time.
We expect a series of overlapping south-southwest swells to move in over the next few days. Wave heights will build with the peak expected Sunday. Sunday the best breaks could push up to nearly double overhead.
Quiet in the North Pacific at this time with nothing of note generating swell energy for the foreseeable future.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
