Preparations Underway for Maui Family Caregiver Walk, Feb. 25
The 2017 edition of the Maui Adult Day Care Centers Annual Caregiver Walk is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25 from 7 to 11 a.m.
The annual walk starts at the Queen Kaʻahumanu Shopping Center and continues through Keōpūolani Park returning to the Kaʻahumanu Shopping Center in Kahului.
The public is invited to participate by walking at the event, forming a team or becoming a sponsor.
The money raised from the event will to towards the following:
- Support Maui Adult Day Care Centers’ Weekday, Weekend & Respite Programs, as well as their Sun Downing Program and the High-Functioning/Intergenerational Programs for the elderly;
- Help to keep cost to families and caregivers down;
- Provide scholarships for those individuals in financial need; and
- Help with funding of the monthly caregiver support groups & workshops.
The Family Caregiver Walk boasts a line-up of entertainment with Maui’s own Kathy Collins, Ted Anderson, Darren Lee of Burn ‘n Love & Maui Adult Day Cares’ very own Electric Slide Tutus.
