The World Surf League released the schedule for the 2026/27 Challenger Series, as well as announcing the addition of a new category of events, the Qualifying Series 6,000 International. The Challenger Series, together with the new QS 6,000 International events, will provide the pathway to compete on the elite Championship Tour for the 2027 season. 

Registration is now open for the 2026 Moloka’i Channel World Championships, drawing over 1,000 elite paddlers from around the globe for two iconic 41-mile inter-island races — Nā Wāhine O Ke Kai on Sept. 27 and the Moloka’i Hoe on Oct. 11.

The Hawaiʻi State Junior Golf Association is now officially open for 2026 membership and registration for its Spring season. Junior golfers across Hawaiʻi are invited to join and take part in a competitive and educational tournament schedule designed to develop skills both on and off the course.

This exclusive camp provides a rare opportunity for Maui’s youth to experience nationally recognized instruction right at home, while also inviting young athletes from across the country to pair world-class instruction with a memorable family vacation on Kāʻanapali Beach.

Maui junior tennis players recently competed in the first-ever International Tennis Federation (ITF) 18-and-under tournament held on Maui.

One of Maui’s brightest young athletes, Victoria Hansen, continues to excel on both the tennis court and on the baseball field. At just 12 years old, Hansen has earned her place among the Top US Tennis Association players in the State of Hawaiʻi for the 12-and-under division, firmly establishing herself as one of Maui’s most accomplished young tennis players.

Maui Ocean Center will present the 15th annual Maui 5K from 7 to 9 a.m. Sunday, March 1. Online registration, including new youth rates for ages 5 to 17, ends Feb. 26.

The Maui Marathon will take place Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Kāʻanapali. Race weekend begins with the official Health & Fitness Expo and runner packet pickup on Friday and Saturday, April 24–25, at the The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Valley Isle Ballroom.
