Hawai’i All-State Marching Band to Perform in Tournament of Roses Parade

The Hawai’i All-State Marching Band Nā Koa Ali’i will make it’s fourth appearance in the 130th Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan.1, 2019. Nā Koa Ali’i is comprised of musicians and dancers from public and private high schools throughout the state.

Laura V. Farber, the executive vice-president of the Tournament of Roses (TOR) Association, met with 55 musicians from Lahainaluna, Baldwin, Seabury, and Kamehameha Schools Maui at an official TOR flag presentation and dinner at the Kamehameha Schools Dining Hall on Thursday. The Maui contingent will join a combined 300 band and 90 dancer entourage from schools across the state to perform before an estimated 60 million worldwide television viewers on New Year’s Day 2019.

Nā Koa All’i has previously performed in the parade in 2003, 2009, and 2014. The group has also performed in four Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades.

Farber will also be visiting schools on Kaua’i, Hawai’i, and Oahu as part of the Rose Parade official welcome and acknowledgement for being selected as one of 20 bands in the world to perform in the 2019 parade.
