Hawai‘i Gas Prices Remain Stable For The Week
Two-and-a-half months of relative stability for Hawaiʻi gas prices continued over the past week, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch.
In Kahului and Wailuku on Maui, the average price is $3.84, which is one cent higher than last Thursday, unchanged from this date last month and 27 cents lower than on this date a year ago.
“Prices throughout the islands have risen and dropped by just a few cents since the beginning of May,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaiʻi general manager. “Regular vehicle maintenance and proper tire inflation can help drivers maximize their fuel efficiency and save money on gas.”
Prices Around the State:
Today’s statewide average price is $3.66 a gallon, which is one cent higher than last Thursday, one cent higher than a month ago and 12 cents lower than on this date a year ago, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular is $3.53, which is unchanged from last Thursday, also unchanged from this date a month ago and ten cents lower than on this date last year.
The Hilo average price is $3.77, which is down one cent from last Thursday, three cents more than on this date last month and nine cents lower than on this date a year ago.
Līhue’s average price for regular is $3.85, which is one cent higher than last Thursday, one cent higher than on this date last month and 11 cents lower than a year ago today.
