An estimated 20 acres of brush was burned in Central Maui on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 17, 2019) near the Central Maui landfill.  The fire forced the temporary closure of Pūlehu Road for several hours during firefighting operations.  The fire was brought under control at around 5 p.m. and multiple fire crews remained on scene into the evening for mop-up operations.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
