Hāna Highway Nightly Closures Between Huelo and Hāna Town, Jan. 28 to 31

The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation advises Maui motorists of nightly closures of Hāna Highway (Route 360) between Huelo and Hāna Town beginning Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020.

All lanes and all directions of Hāna Highway will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. between Tuesday evening, Jan. 28 and Friday morning, Jan. 31. No closure is scheduled for Friday night, Jan. 31.

The night work will involve drilling and soil nail installation to stabilize the existing slope face of Hāna Highway. The full road closure allows for the drilling work, as the excavator needs to be placed in both lanes, and the job to be completed more quickly.

Emergency vehicles and first responders have been notified and will be allowed passage through the closure. All roadwork is weather permitting.
