MACC presents free family shows about native forest birds
The Maui Arts & Cultural Center has announced “Forest Flutters: A Bird-Day Party,” a free-to-the-public event in collaboration with the Honolulu Theatre for Youth (HTY) geared to families and their children between two and seven years old.
“This enchanting and educational experience invites keiki to explore Hawai‘i’s forests and meet its native birds through a live stage multi-sensory adventure filled with smells, touch, movement, and music,” described the MACC.
The MACC is hosting two iterations of the show in the McCoy Studio Theater, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., both on Sunday, Sept. 22. Registration is required in advance and available now at MauiArts.org.
“Forest Flutters: A Bird-Day Party” is a show by Danica Rosengren and the HTY Ensemble. It promises to engage all senses, providing a rich and immersive experience for young audiences fostering a love for Hawai‘i’s native flora and fauna.
The MACC will be a collecting donations for the Maui Food Bank from attendees prior to each performance. The need continues, so patrons are asked to bring needed items for those impacted by the wildfires. Donation bins will be located near the McCoy Theater’s entry gates.
