13th annual Maui Steel Guitar Festival at The Shops at Wailea, Oct. 19
The Shops at Wailea hosts the 13th annual Maui Steel Guitar Festival, on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 3-6:30 p.m. This special event celebrates the rich heritage of Hawaiian steel guitar music, featuring live performances by master musicians from both Maui and Oʻahu.
The highlight of the afternoon will be the Saturday Ho’olaule’a Pageant Program, showcasing performances by esteemed artists such as Alan Akaka, Bobby Ingano, Joel Katz, Konapiliahi Lau, Mālie Lyman, and Geri Valdriz. Adding to this impressive lineup are NextGen steel guitarists Makamae and Isabella, who will share their passion for this beloved art form and represent the next generation of musicians.
In addition to enjoying the music, guests can participate in hands-on steel guitar opportunities. With free admission, the event is open to the public and offers a opportunity for the community to connect through the beauty of Hawaiian music and culture.
