The former general manager of the Travaasa Hāna resort, Danny Mynar, has been hired as the new assistant general manager of Destination Resorts Hawaiʻi.
The company specializes in luxury vacation rentals at more than 200 private homes in Wailea and Mākena on Maui.
Properties on the rental list include units at the Wailea Beach Villas, Mākena Surf, Polo Beach Club, Wailea ʻElua Village, Wailea ʻEkahi Village, Wailea ʻEkolu Village, and Wailea Grand Champions Villas.
Company executives say that in his new capacity, Mynar will oversee daily operations at the properties and help to increase satisfaction and profitability.
Ben Beaudoin, general manager at Destination Resorts Hawaiʻi said Mynar’s experience in resort operations will make him an asset to the management team.
In a press release, Beaudoin said Mynar, “embraces and practices many of our company’s core values including our dedication to share aloha, hoʻokipa and authentic experiences of our island home. We couldn’t have found a better match.”
Mynar was born and raised on Maui, graduated from Hāna High school, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in business from New Mexico State University. Company executives note that Mynar also held management positions at the Grand Wailea, Hyatt Regency Maui, and Fairmont Kea Lani.
A search is currently underway to fill the vacancy left by Mynar at the 70-room AAA Four Diamond, Travaasa Hāna resort in East Maui.
