This Saturday, January 24, Kupu Maui hosts their first farm-to-table, family style (meaning pass it around and try not to take an amount that will embarrass your better half) dinner of the new year.

Held at the Enchanting Floral Gardens in Kula, the menu is prepared by Aria’s Catering with Chef Magic.

The meal begins with appetizers including:

  • Stacy’s Char Siu Sliders
  • Spicy Ahi Poke on Taro Chips
  • Craisin Chicken Curry Wraps

This is followed by a Stephen Lee Farms’ Roasted Beet and Kale Salad with a Mandarin Vinaigrette.

Next up, enjoy the main courses of Maui Cattle Company Porcini Filet with Wild Mushroom Sauce and Shichimi pepper-crusted Ahi, which are accompanied by jalapeno sweet potatoes and roasted vegetables.

Dessert will feature an assortment of Chef Stacy’s “Frenchgasm” Desserts. Ooh la la.

Local farmer and Grammy and Hoku Award-winning slack key guitarist, George Kahumoku Jr. provides live entertainment.

As always, Kupu Maui events are BYOB, BYOO (Opener) and BYOG (Glasses), although nonalcoholic beverages are provided.

Organizers recommend casual attire, flat, comfortable shoes, and a sweater or jacket.

The dinner is an early bird’s dream, commencing at 3:30 p.m.

It’s offered at a cost of $75 per person and reservations are required. Proceeds go toward supporting local farmers in their pursuit of food safety and security.
