Maui Police Earn 8th Award of Accreditation
Chief Tivoli Faaumu and members of the Maui Police Department’s accreditation team attended the 2017 Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. Summer Conference in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday, July, 29, 2017.
During the event, CALEA President Richard Meyers and Executive Director Craig Hartley awarded the Maui Police Department it’s eighth award of national accreditation, signifying excellence in public safety and commitment to community.
The award comes following a multi-year assessment phase and a meticulous site-based assessment of community engagement, policy, procedures, equipment and facilities by CALEA.
The accreditation team went before CALEA’s twenty-one member Board of Commissioners that reviewed all findings and determined if the department achieved accreditation status.
