Man Charged with Terroristic Threatening Following Alleged Traffic Confrontation
A man accused of terroristic threatening faces criminal charges following an alleged traffic confrontation reported on Aug. 18, 2019.
John DeCambra was charged with a total of seven counts including: first degree terroristic threatening (Class C felony); two counts of place to keep pistol or revolver (Class B felony); three counts of prohibited ownership or possession of a firearm (Class B felony); and place to keep ammunition (misdemeanor).
Police say a male victim reported he was followed home by another man operating a back Toyota pick-up truck after the two were involved in a confrontation while merging into traffic earlier.
According to police reports, the victim approached the truck and told police he saw the driver brandish a firearm. Police say the victim became afraid for his life and ran from the truck which fled the area.
Police later located the suspect and identified the man as DeCambra. He was arrested and taken to the Wailuku Police Station for processing and later transported to District Court.
Total bail was set at $41,000. DeCambra is scheduled to appear in Wailuku District Court for an arraignment and plea next Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, before Judge Richard Bissen.
