The public is invited to a virtual meeting for the Hāna Community Pathway Study on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, at 5 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to solicit feedback on an analysis done for a multimodal, shared-use path throughout Hāna town.

The meeting will be held via Zoom. To register for the meeting, go to mauimpo.org.

This will be the second community meeting for the Hāna Community Pathway Study, formerly called the Hāna Greenway Plan, which continues the conversation about a proposed pedestrian pathway through Hāna town. There will be a presentation on the evaluation of different proposed route segments with opportunities to participate in polling exercises and a facilitated breakout discussion.

The Hāna Community Pathway Study envisions more than five miles of multimodal, shared-use pathway linking important resources and services like Hāna High and Elementary School, Hāna Health, and the farmers’ market, allowing both residents and visitors to safely walk, bike, or roll through their community.

Currently, Hāna Highway is the only road connecting the daily services and destinations of its residents and visitors. The pathway aims to increase connectivity, accessibility, and safety by designating dedicated pathways for pedestrians separate from the highway.
