The Location: Hale Makua WailukuHale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Wailuku location is a 90-bed nursing facility.The Position:We're looking for a Health Information Technician / Health Information Assistant who strives to provide operational excellence and genuine care in a team environment. Our Health Information Management (HIM) Department is primarily responsible for:
Patient health records and ensure that needed health information is complete, accurate and available to legitimate users.
Provides ICD-10 codes on admission and concurrently as required.
Prepares release of information documents, including but not limited to audit, patient and subpoena requests.
Conduct medical record audits.
Protect patient privacy, provide information security, comply with standards and regulations regarding health information and administer health information computer systems.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year in health information experience, in any healthcare setting.
Knowledge of ICD-10 and medical terminology.
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred, but not required.
