Search underway for missing snorkeler off Kauaʻi 

A search is underway for a 59-year-old man who was last seen snorkeling off Kauaʻi Sunday. Watchstanders with the US Coast Guard received the report at approximately 12:15 p.m. from Kauaʻi Fire Department dispatchers that the man had become separated from his group at about 11:45 a.m. ʻAnini Beach in Kalihiwai.

DLNR: Search and destroy mission combats non-native corals

Expecting to only remove two species of non-native coral, a team from the DLNR Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR), ended up extracting four coral colonies from one of the longest and widest fringing reef in Hawai‘i on Thursday.
