Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident involving a bicyclist on the Haleakalā Highway (377). The accident was reported at around 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, between Mile 4 and 5.

The bicyclist, described as an elderly male, struck a guardrail and fell about 10 feet down a ditch, according to accident reports. Authorities say man was medivaced to Maui Memorial Medical Center with chest injuries and multiple traumatic injuries to his extremities.
