American Savings Bank has received national recognition from the American Bankers Association (ABA) Foundation for its Hui Kapili Accelerator, earning a 2025 ABA Foundation Community Commitment Award in the Community and Economic Development category.

Hawaiʻi State Federal Credit Union announced the launch of its new monthly podcast, “Voices of Change – The HSFCU Podcast,” designed to spark meaningful conversations and inspire action around issues impacting Hawaiʻi residents. The first episode, featuring Micah Kāne, former president and CEO of the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation and current president and CEO of Parker Ranch, is now live.

Native Hawaiian cultural practitioners will lead a statewide, one-day vigil on Friday, Sept. 1, to aid the emotional and spiritual healing of those on Maui who suffered devastating loss from wildfires that swept through Lahaina and other areas of the island. “There’s an urgent need for prayer, cleansing, and reflection so that together, we can help Maui and Hawai‘i heal,” Holt-Padilla said. “This vigil will help to create a space for grief and healing and the opportunity for Hawai‘i to be united.”
