Maui power outage updates: thousands without power in various parts of the island

Thousands of customers remain without power in Maui County including parts of Kula, Puʻukoliʻi, Makawao, Kūʻau to Hāna, and Haʻikū. Hawaiian Electric Company reports that crews are responding to multiple storm-related outages. About 6,500 customers out of about 72,000 are without power in Maui County, the majority in parts of Upcountry and North Shore areas on Maui due to fallen trees and branches on lines.

Crews focus on infrastructure repair to support restoration in West Maui

Hawaiian Electric crews working to restore power to customers have completed repair of damaged transmission lines in the Upcountry area. Work continues on infrastructure to support restoration in the West Maui area, where facilities that provide essential needs such as groceries and supplies are located.

Hawaiian Electric crews continue with damage assessments, repairs

In continued coordination with State and County emergency response efforts, Hawaiian Electric crews today are continuing to make repairs in areas that are safe and accessible. 70 customers remain without power in Upcountry. All of West Maui remains without power.
