Brush fire along ‘Pali’ section of Honoapiʻilani burns small area; cause undetermined
A fire along the makai side of the Honoapiʻilani Highway burned an estimated area of 300 by 200 feet before being brought under control on Saturday afternoon.
Update: Maui fire crews stop forward progress on 10.2 acre brush fire; Ukumehame blaze 75% contained by nightfall
Update: The Ukumehame brush fire was declared 75% contained by nightfall on Tuesday. A Maui Fire Department crew remained on scene throughout the night to monitor the area. Emergency managers say the fire was initially reported as being in Olowalu, but was updated to better reflect the area of Ukumehame, further south.
UPDATE: Ukumehame Fire on Maui Blackens 105 Acres, 100% Contained
A fire near the Ukumehame Firing Range on Maui blackened a total of 105 acres since it was first reported at mid-day on Saturday, and is now 100% contained.

Maui fire crews utilized air assets to battle a brush fire near the Ukumehame Firing Range in West Maui on Saturday afternoon. At 4:12 p.m., Maui Fire officials report that the blaze is still active and about 70% contained.

Ukumehame Brush Fire: Fire Under Control, Hwy OPEN
West Maui motorists are being advised that a brushfire on the mauka side of Honoapiilani Highway in Ukumehame may force the closure of the highway if the blaze is not contained within the next hour. Fire personnel say winds of up to 20 to 30 miles per hour are fanning fire, which was said to be near Ehehene Street.

Maui firefighters are battling a brush fire near Mile 12 of the Honoapi’ilani Highway in the Ukumehame area of West Maui. The fire was burning an area of brush on the mauka side of the road.
