Maui firefighters extinguished a fire that burned a small storage shed near an abandoned home in Kahului on Sunday, December 18, 2011.

The 340 square-foot wooden structure was approximately 25% involved when firefighters arrived.

The fire was reported at 2:44 p.m. at the structure on West Papa Avenue. Crews from Kahului and Wailuku had the fire under control by 2:51 p.m. and extinguished by 3:59 p.m.

The abandoned home next to the structure was not damaged, and no injuries were reported.
