Maui Gas Prices Remain Steady
Wailuku’s gas price average of $3.38 remains unchanged since last Thursday; the price is 14 cents more than on this date last month and $1.07 less on this date last year, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch.
The state’s gas price averages saw a slight increase again during the past week, and continue to remain about $1 or more a gallon less than a year ago. The current state average for a gallon of regular is $3.29, three cents more than last week, 20 cents more than last month and $1.07 a gallon lower than a year ago.
Hawaiʻi Island’s average gas price is $3.22 per gallon, four cents more than last week, 16 cents more than last month and 96 cents less than this time a year ago.
Honolulu’s average gas price increased to $3.23, which is six cents more since last Thursday, 24 cents higher than last month and $1.11 a gallon less than a year ago.
“The islands and West Coast continue to experience the highest prices for retail gasoline but California ($3.73) remains the nation’s most expensive market,” according to AAA Hawaiʻi General Manager Liane Sumida. “Four other western states now post averages above $3 per gallon.”
