The flood advisory has been cancelled. NWS forecasters say rain gauges show that heavy rain has ended.

The National Weather Service issued a Flood Advisory for Maui, in effect until 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015.

At 4:42 p.m., NWS forecasters say radar showed heavy rain near Keōkea, about 16 miles SE of Kahului, Maui.

ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD

The rain was nearly stationary and rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour remain a possibility.

Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to: Kula, Wailea and Kīhei.

There is also a Flood Watch in effect until 6 p.m.
