95th Maui Fair: Photo Salon Entries Now Being Accepted
Photographers can now enter their most-prized photos for the 95th Maui Fair Photo Salon Contest.
The competition is open to all Hawai‘i residents and will consist of three divisions: Youth, Open & Expert. Only photos taken after Oct. 1, 2016 will be eligible.
The contest has three categories:
- Monochrome/Black & White Prints
- Color Prints
- ‘Photo Art’
The “Youth” division is open to Hawai‘i residents 18 years & younger. The “Open” division is open to all amateur photographers who are residents of Hawai‘i, and “Expert” is open to Hawai‘i professional photographers and recognized photo experts, including those who have won 1st place in any previous Maui Fair.
Applications are now available online here through Sept. 28.
A fee of $2 for the Youth Division and $5 for Open and Expert Divisions must accompany all entries. Cash is accepted and checks are payable to Maui Camera Club.
Those interested can drop-off for entries paid online between Sept. 25-29, 2017, at Picture It Framed, 230 Hana Highway #8 in Kahului, between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Photo drop-off for entries paying in cash (or anyone needing help with registration) can only drop-off on Sept. 30, 2017, at Hale Mahaolu Elima, 11 Mahaolu Street in Kahului, between 9 a.m. and noon.
Photos will be available for pickup after the fair and must be done between Oct. 10-13, 2017, at Picture It Framed between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pictures not picked up by the end of day on Oct. 13 may be auctioned off.
The Photo Salon will be on display in the War Memorial Gymnasium all four days of the Fair.
