Part of Alamaha Street in Kahului will be closed next week, Thursday, June 12, while crews from the Department of Water Supply replace a broken water service line.   The project was originally scheduled for June 5 (tonight), but has since been rescheduled.

Traffic on Alamaha will be limited to local traffic only between Hanakai and Hanamau Streets from 5 to 12 p.m.

Motorists are advised to follow signage and traffic control, and use alternate routes.

In addition, water will be shut off for customers between 296 and 213 Alamaha Street during the work period.

Water officials advise affected customers to store water for the evening if needed, and flush waterlines for a short time on Friday to ensure that no sediment has accumulated during the project.

Customers can also call the department’s 24-hour service line at (808) 270-7633, only if a water emergency occurs.
