Search for Mariner, Ingraham, Continues off Lānaʻi

The US Coast Guard rescued one man and is still searching for another after a 34-foot fishing vessel the “Munchkin” ran aground on the rocks about a half mile west of Lānaʻi early this morning. The incident as reported about 12 minutes after midnight on Friday, April 24, 2015.
One man, identified as Kenny Corder, was located and airlifted from the water at around 3:20 this morning. He was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center, and was last listed in good condition, according to the US Coast Guard.
The search for the second man continues at this hour. The US Coast Guard has since identified the missing man as Ron Ingraham, and has confirmed that this is the same mariner who spent 12 days lost at sea in December aboard his own vessel, the Malia. According to the US Coast Guard, Corder reported that Ingraham was not wearing a life jacket at the time of this morning’s incident.
On scene weather conditions this afternoon include 10 mile per hour winds and 5 foot seas.
As of 2 p.m., the search had covered a total of 148 square miles.
