Sweeping $1.8 Billion Infrastructure Improvement Plan Unveiled

State and county leaders joined the governor today in unveiling a sweeping plan to implement $1.8 billion in public infrastructure improvement projects as part of a broader effort to stimulate the economy and create jobs.

Out of the1521 projects outlined in the plan, 217 are on Maui, 35 on Molokai and 18 on Lanai.

All have already been budgeted and approved by the Legislature and are ready to start construction within the next year and a half.

Larger ticket items include the $48 million Lahaina Bypass Phase 1A realignment; $38 million for the Kahului Airport Access Road, $21 million for the Science Building at Maui Community College, and $16 million for improvements to the Maalaea Small Boat Harbor Ferry System.
