Rinzai Zen Mission of Paia (120 Alawai Road, inside of Paia Baldwin Park) will be having Obon services at 6pm, lion awakening ceremony at 7pm and obon odori (dance) to follow. Everyone is welcome to participate with their happi coat or kimono. Okinawan entertainment will be during the half time about 8pm. On sale will be Okinawan pig’s feet soup, chow fun, Okinawan shoyu pork, Okinawan andagi and andadog. Also available will be vegetables, fruits, and baked goods. Pratice for the obon dance will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays till August 18th from 7pm. Any questions, call the church at 579-9921.
