Travel Weekly Readers Name Maui Best Hawaii Destination
Maui was honored with the Best Hawaii Destination and Hawaii as the Best U.S. Destination at Travel Weekly’s 8th Annual Readers Choice Awards New York gala earlier this month.
This is the seventh consecutive year that Hawaii has been named Travel Weekly Readers’ Choice for the Best U.S. State Destination category and also the seventh consecutive year that Maui has won in the Best in Hawaii category.
Other local winners included several Maui-based hotel chains. The Marriott International won in the Sales and Service Hotel Chains category and also as Best Domestic Hotel Chain. The Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts won in the Best Luxury Hotel Chain category. Westin Hotels and Resorts won in the Upscale Hotel Chain category. Hertz won in the car rental category. Pleasant Holidays won for top Hawaii tour operator.
Travel Weekly is the travel industry’s national newspaper. Winners are selected in 59 award categories, including airline, car rental, hospitality, hotel chain, best resort worldwide, tour operator, cruise line, destination and theme park. Categories are further broken down into geographic region and channel.
