Crime Watch: Public’s Help Sought in ID of Suspect

This week, authorities from the Maui Police Department and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual wanted for allegedly attempting to purchase goods with counterfeit US currency.

The alleged incident occurred on February 15, 2012 at the Kihei Safeway.  Upon confrontation by the cashier, the suspect fled the store, according to authorities.

Anyone with information concerning the identity of the person in the attached surveillance photo is asked to contact Maui Crime Stoppers at (808) 242-6966, or toll free from the Neighbor Islands at (888) 242-6966.

Maui Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of individuals in unsolved crimes.

The public should consider all wanted persons as dangerous and should not approach, follow or take other action that could put themselves in danger.
