10 Vehicle Thefts on Maui March 3-9, 2013

There were a total of 10 vehicle thefts on Maui in the seven day period between March 3-9, 2013.

The cases include (1) incident in Kahului, (2) in Kihei, (1) in Makawao, (2) in Napili, (1) in Paia, (1) in Pukalani, (1) in Waiehu, and (1) incident in Wailuku.


Three of the 10 stolen vehicles has since been recovered.

A complete run-down of incidents is listed below:


  • Tuesday, March 5, 2013, 10:12 p.m.:  Kahului Airport Road.  2013 White Ford Taurus.  License: LAJ177. VIN: 1FALP57U4SA255039.


  • Tuesday, March 5, 2013, 9:46 a.m.:  Kaihoi Street.  1993 Gold Honda Accord.  RECOVERED.
  • Sunday, March 3, 3013, 10:30 a.m.:  North Kihei Road at the Kihei Sands.  2012 Red Jeep Wrangler.  License:  LCR244.  VIN:  1C4GJWAG8CL156705.


  • Tuesday, March 5, 2013, 2 p.m.:  Makawao Avenue at the Municipal parking lot behind Stopwatch.  1994 Blue Jeep Wrangler.  License:  MAB473.  VIN: 1J4FY19P8RP442872.


  • Friday, March 8, 2013, 5:30 p.m.:  Hanawai Street.  2004 Black Mitsubishi Eclipse.  License: MMK620.  VIN: 4ABAC44G04E062417.
  • Saturday, March 9, 2013, 10 a.m.:  Hanawai Street at Napili Village.  2010 Black Genuine Scooter Co. moped.  VIN: RFVPMP200A1004639.


  • Sunday, March 3, 2013, 9 p.m.:  Alawai road at Baldwin Park.  1011 Black Honda Ruckus.  License: 001MVR.


  • Thursday, March 7, 2013, 2:15 p.m.:  Kumano Drive.  2003 Green Ford Windstar.  RECOVERED.


  • Sunday, March 3, 2013, 1:58 a.m.:  Makaala Drive.  2010 Silver Nissan Pathfinder.  RECOVERED.


  • Monday, March 4, 2013, 12:30 p.m.:  Wili Pa loop at the Maui County Federal Credit Union.  2007 Red Nissan Altima.  License:  LAF724.
